Exploring the Routes to Hanthana Mountain Range
The Hanthana Mountain Range is situated in the Kandy District of the Central Province, and the entire range can be observed when traveling from Peradeniya to Delthota. It is located not far from Kandy City, in the southwest. There are four major routes to reach the mountain range: Sarasavigama–Peradeniya, Sarasavigama–Makanda, Galaha-Delthota, and Route Hanthana-Uduwela.Among those four routes, the Hanthana-Uduwela route is considered the easiest. However, if you enjoy long treks and hiking, it is ideal to choose the next three routes. Covering all seven peaks in a day is not an easy task. You have to trek a long distance from the first peak to reach the last mountain, ”katusu konda”.
Traveling to Kandy: Road vs. Rail
